Buying Guide: PXN Direct Drive Bases
PXN takes on the Direct Drive market with a simple pitch: a complete bundle, a real 6 Nm direct-drive motor, at a price that makes the technology accessible to everyone. For drivers torn between a high-end belt-driven wheel and a first Direct Drive, the answer is now obvious. PassionSim is PXN's official Canadian distributor, with support in English and French.
The VD6 Bundle: a complete 6 Nm setup
The VD6 Bundle includes the 6 Nm Direct Drive base, a 280 mm wheel and Hall-effect sensor pedals: a complete, immersive setup for getting started or leveling up. Hall sensors, with no mechanical contact, guarantee consistent precision over time, unlike the potentiometers found on entry-level wheels that wear out and lose accuracy. The 280 mm wheel size is a great fit for GT and formula disciplines.
How it compares to other bundles
At this price point, the VD6 stacks up directly against the Cammus C5, Moza R5 and Thrustmaster T598 bundles: check out our full bundles collection to compare all four setups based on your budget, your space and your favorite games. And when it's time to upgrade, our load-cell pedals and cockpits will be waiting.
Reputation, durability and ease of use
PXN has carved out a solid place in the accessible end of Direct Drive, with a clear positioning: deliver real technology at a price that shakes up the market. Like any Direct Drive, the absence of a belt or gear eliminates classic mechanical wear, for years of regular use. The VD6 bundle installs directly on a desk with its included mount; a cockpit becomes worthwhile only if you move up to higher torque later on.
