Frequently asked questions

We have the answers.

Yes. It connects to the PC and is recognised as an independent button device, so it does not depend on your base. Inputs are then mapped freely in each simulation.

It groups enough buttons and switches to offload the race management functions that have no place on a compact wheel. That is precisely the use case: freeing the wheel from controls you never press mid-corner.

No, mapping happens directly in each simulation's control settings, just like a keyboard or a gamepad. There is no mandatory software layer in between.

It is built around PXN sets and wheels of comparable size and weight. On a heavy, powerful direct drive base a desk stand reaches its limits: it is not the right tool for that class of hardware.

It clamps onto the desktop. On a fragile or lacquered surface it is worth adding a protective layer, as with any clamp. Check your desktop thickness before ordering as well.

Yes, and that is the most comfortable option: the box stays fixed and you find it in the same place every session, which is the whole point of a control you operate without looking.

They are intended for PC. Consoles generally do not recognise additional button boxes, whatever the brand.

The PXN manufacturer warranty covers both products. As the official distributor for the brand in Canada, PassionSim handles after-sales service directly.

Buying guide: PXN accessories

Two accessories answering two very different needs: adding controls where the wheel has run out, and mounting a wheel and pedal set cleanly when you have no rig. PXN stays true to its value-for-money logic. PassionSim is the official PXN distributor in Canada.

CB1: the button box

An entry-level wheel runs out of buttons quickly once you race endurance or manage a race: brake bias, engine mapping, wipers, lights, radio. The CB1 moves those functions to a separate box you place where your hand finds it. It is the cheapest addition for real gains in race management comfort.

Z9 stand: mounting your gear properly

The Z9 stand is for those without a rig, playing at a desk. It holds the assembly in place under steering and braking loads, which is exactly the weak point of clamping straight to a desktop. It is an entry solution, not a substitute for a rigid chassis if you move up in power.

What these accessories do not replace

A button box does not fix a wheel whose ergonomics do not suit you, and a desk stand does not deliver the rigidity of an aluminium rig. These are supporting parts, genuinely useful at their price and in their place. Once you go past roughly ten newton-metres at the wheel, the structure is what needs attention first.
