Why a hydraulic handbrake rather than a position sensor?

Because the hydraulic sensor measures applied pressure rather than lever travel. That lets you meter rear axle lock progressively: enough to place the car on the way into a rally hairpin, or start a drift without snapping straight into it.

Can the H3 be mounted vertically?

Yes, two positions are provided: horizontal in Classic mode or vertical in Competitive mode, depending on your discipline and the space in your rig. It bolts from below with Φ6 mm fixings. The aluminium body measures 218 x 81 x 320 mm at 1.04 kg.

Does the H3 need maintenance?

No, the oil reservoir is maintenance-free, designed for extended use. The second-generation hydraulic system uses a redesigned internal circuit for progressive damping. It connects over direct USB, the CONSPIT CAN bus or a compatible base.
