It's made for standard aluminium extrusion, the format used by most rigid cockpits on the market. On the base side, the holes and dimensions match the ARES direct drive housing exactly, which avoids improvised adaptations and stress points. No extra drilling is required.

Because an improvised mount creates stress points and lets the base move slightly under torque. A machined mount spreads the load across the right surfaces and limits flex and vibration. You feel it as soon as the torque climbs: the force feedback reaches the wheel instead of disappearing into the frame.

CONSPIT ARES direct drive bases, from the APEX 8 Nm up to the ARES Platinum 20 Nm. If you're fitting a base from another brand to an extrusion rig, message us: the range includes other plates, among them a version dedicated to Simucube bases.
