FAQ

A few questions we're often asked about this product.

Our team of experts is here to answer any question you have.

Is the Alpha Mini an entry-level base?

By price, yes. By electronics, no: a 262,144 point-per-revolution encoder, a 200 MHz processor and a 40 kHz refresh rate, a signal chain worthy of far more expensive bases. Its 10 Nm are plenty to feel grip and weight transfer.

How much room does it take on a rig?

Not much: 259.5 x 110 x 110 mm at 6.35 kg, in a bead-blasted, anodised CNC aluminium housing that sheds heat while staying rigid. It bolts down through four M6 threaded holes, which makes it easy to fit to an existing chassis or a solid stand.

What is the Alpha Mini's wireless power feature?

A Simagic patented technology that removes the power cable between base and wheel. Fewer wires in the rotating axis means no twist wear and no intermittent dropouts past a full turn of lock. The third-party filter is included for fine-tuning the force feedback.
