With the Zeus range, Simagic no longer just sells wheels: it sells a system. Three wheels share the same quick release, the same removable display and the same connection accessories, and what you need to buy depends on the base you mount them on. That is what confuses most buyers: AirLink, MagLink Pro, MagLink Pro Xtend, MagDock… This guide explains what each part does, what each base requires and which combinations make sense. It draws on Simagic's documentation, on the reviews published since launch and on the questions our customers ask us.
THE SHORT ANSWER
- Three wheels: Zeus Formula (280 mm, up to 92 inputs), Zeus GT (300 mm) and Zeus Sport (320 mm round), all on the same Zeus QR50 quick release.
- The MagicDash 4 is a magnetic 4-inch touchscreen that moves from one wheel to another. It is optional on the GT and Sport, which keep their 15 shift lights without it. On the Formula, the shift lights are part of the display.
- On an Alpha EVO base, the wheel works with no accessory. For the display, you need AirLink (wireless), included when the wheel is ordered with the MagicDash 4, or a MagLink Pro (wired).
- On a first-generation Alpha (Alpha, Alpha Mini, Alpha U, M10), you need a MagLink Pro or a MagLink Pro Xtend. On another brand's base, a MagLink Pro.
- Zeus wheels work on Windows PC only, with SimPro Manager V3 and SimHub.

What the Zeus ecosystem includes
The ecosystem comes down to a few families of parts. Understanding each one separately avoids most buying mistakes.

The common mechanical element is the Zeus QR50 quick release, factory-fitted on all three wheels. It keeps the 50 mm bolt pattern of Simagic's earlier generations and adds about 400 g to the wheel. The common electrical element is the CAN FD link: a faster data bus than classic CAN, which carries the controls and the lighting of dozens of RGB zones through the quick release, with no coiled cable. Alpha EVO bases handle it natively. Other bases do not, and that is the whole reason the MagLink accessories exist.

Zeus Formula: single-seater control density
The Zeus Formula targets single-seaters and prototypes. Its 280 mm format sets a fixed hand position, as in F1, and frees up room for 16 buttons, 8 encoders and 2 switches: enough to adjust brake bias, differential, engine map and energy recovery mid-race without letting go of the wheel. The 5 mm solid carbon front plate on a machined aluminium housing makes it the stiffest of the three.
One thing to know before picking the version without display: on the Formula, the shift light bar is part of the MagicDash 4. Without the display, the wheel has no rev indicator and its centre recess stays empty. That is why we almost always recommend the Formula with its MagicDash 4.
Zeus GT: the all-round format
The Zeus GT uses the 300 mm diameter of GT3, GT4 and endurance cars. It is the lightest of the three (1.22 kg without display or quick release), which lets more force feedback detail through. It keeps its 15 shift lights without a MagicDash 4, making it the best candidate for a setup without display. Its limit, noted in testing: it has no thumb encoders, unlike the Formula and Sport. Its grips are replaceable (leather as standard, suede or rubber) and Simagic offers them in C, D or square shapes.
Zeus Sport: the round wheel for rally and road

The Zeus Sport is a 320 mm round wheel with a mixed cover: leather where your hands grip, suede where they slide during countersteer. Simagic offers other interchangeable rims for it, from a 310 mm square to a 330 mm rally round. It is the Zeus to choose for rally, drift and road cars, especially with push-pull paddles.
The larger diameter has one effect worth knowing: at equal torque, the force you feel at the rim drops as the radius grows. On a 9 Nm base, the Sport's force feedback therefore feels lighter; we recommend it from 12 Nm. Our torque guide covers these tiers in detail.
MagicDash 4: one display for several wheels

The MagicDash 4 is a 3.97-inch IPS touchscreen at 800 × 480 pixels, with 15 rev LEDs on top and 6 side LEDs for ABS, traction control, pit limiter or fuel. It weighs 186 g and attaches with magnets, through a self-aligning 6-pin connector. The touchscreen also works as a touchpad to control your PC without leaving the rig.
Its value lies in its mobility: one display moves from one Zeus to another, and it mounts in three places.
- In the centre of a Zeus wheel: remove the decorative cover and the display drops into its recess. The GT and Sport ship with a wheel-specific MagDock lock that holds it in place.
- On the front of an Alpha EVO base, which has a magnetic mount and powers it.
- On a MagDock stand bolted to the rig (M6 or M8 holes), for other bases.
Bought with a wheel, the display costs far less, and AirLink is included: CA$240 more on the Formula, CA$230 on the GT and CA$198 on the Sport, versus CA$338 for the MagicDash 4 (CA$275) and AirLink (CA$63) bought separately. It shows SimPro Manager's official layouts (F1, GT, prototype) or SimHub's full dashboard library.
Motion rigs and strong transducers
On the front of an Alpha EVO base, the display's magnetic hold is moderate: one reviewer could move it by hand. On a static rig, no issue. On a motion platform or with transducers set high, keep an eye on it. In the centre of a Zeus GT or Sport, the MagDock lock settles the question.
How the wheel talks to your PC
This is where most of the confusion comes from, because Simagic offers several data paths. They are not all mutually exclusive, and the right one depends on your base.
| Link | What it carries | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Alpha EVO quick release (CAN FD) | Wheel controls, paddles and lighting, power | Alpha EVO bases, no accessory |
| AirLink (wireless, 5 GHz) | MagicDash 4 and wheel data, over a dedicated radio link | Mainly Alpha EVO bases, for a completely cable-free wheel |
| MagLink Pro (magnetic, wired) | Data and power for the wheel and display, over USB to the PC | Every base; essential outside Simagic |
| MagLink Pro Xtend (shaft extension) | Data and power through the base, wheel left stock | First-generation Alpha bases and M10 only |
| Wheel USB-C port | Firmware updates | Maintenance, not for racing |
AirLink: the dedicated wireless link
The MagicDash 4 has its own Wi-Fi radios, but home Wi-Fi proved unreliable for telemetry. Simagic therefore designed AirLink: a receiver plugged into the PC over USB, which creates a dedicated link on the 5.2 and 5.8 GHz bands. Two installation rules from the manual: keep it at least 20 cm from your body, with no metal between it and the wheel. On an aluminium profile rig, mount it in front of the cockpit or above large metal plates. At PassionSim, AirLink is included with Zeus wheels ordered with the MagicDash 4; it is also sold on its own.
MagLink Pro: the universal wired link

The MagLink Pro replaces the wheel's back plate with a magnetic connector. A 3 m cable runs from the wheel to a small hub, which plugs into the PC over USB and into its own power supply, up to 5 V / 4 A. That separate power solves a real problem: a colour display and dozens of RGB LEDs draw more than a standard quick release can deliver. It is also the link that gives SimHub full control of the wheel LEDs. It works on every base, Alpha EVO included, and installs on each wheel with the supplied parts.
MagLink Pro Xtend: for first-generation Alpha bases

The MagLink Pro Xtend mounts on the shaft of an Alpha, Alpha Mini, Alpha U or M10 base, between the base and the quick release. The wheel stays stock, and one Xtend serves all your Zeus wheels. It also unlocks USB mode on the GT Neo and Neo X, for SimHub. Three limits to know:
- It weighs 510 g and lengthens the base shaft, which moves the wheel closer to you: check the clearance to your screen and your knees.
- It is not compatible with Alpha EVO bases, which do not need it anyway.
- It is not recommended on other brands' bases, even when their quick release has the same shape: the internal wiring differs.
Simagic's own advice is simple: with a single Zeus wheel on an Alpha, the MagLink Pro is enough; the Xtend starts to make sense from two wheels.
What to connect for your base

| Your base | Zeus wheel only | Zeus wheel + MagicDash 4 | MagicDash 4 only |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alpha EVO (EVO Sport, EVO, EVO Pro, EVO Ultra) | Nothing to add | AirLink (included with the MagicDash 4 version), or MagLink Pro for a wired link | AirLink; display on the front of the base |
| Alpha, Alpha Mini, Alpha U, M10 | MagLink Pro (one wheel) or MagLink Pro Xtend (several wheels) | Same link as the wheel | MagDock stand |
| Another brand's base | MagLink Pro, with a compatible quick release | MagLink Pro | MagDock stand (mounting holes on the front of the base) |
Alpha EVO: the heart of the ecosystem
The Alpha EVO Sport 9 Nm, EVO 12 Nm, EVO Pro 18 Nm and Alpha EVO Ultra 28 Nm bases recognise Zeus wheels natively: the quick release locks in, the base powers the wheel and carries its data. Nothing else to buy: if you order the wheel with the MagicDash 4, AirLink is included. They also accept the QR70 and QR-A quick releases, the latter for mounting another brand's wheel over USB.
First-generation Alpha
If you own an Alpha Mini or another first-generation Alpha, there is no need to replace the base to move to Zeus: a MagLink Pro (CA$63) or an Xtend (CA$125) bridges the gap. The wheel then runs over USB, with all its controls and lighting.
Another brand's base
On a Moza, Conspit, Simucube or other base, the MagLink Pro handles data and power, but the mechanical mount depends on your base's quick release. Simagic has not validated every quick release on the market. Contact us with your base model before ordering and we will check the combination.
Two rules from the manual
Plug the MagLink Pro hub into your PC, never into a USB port on the base. And do not connect the quick release's original contacts at the same time: Simagic's manual warns of a short-circuit risk.
When you order, each Zeus product page asks for your base (Alpha EVO, Alpha or another brand) and whether you want the MagicDash 4: make that choice with this table in mind.
Paddles, grips and options
All three wheels ship with a Hall effect paddle module, contactless and therefore free of switch wear. Simagic offers a single paddle, a three-paddle module and push-pull paddles as options: each paddle works both pushed and pulled, so you can shift up and down with one hand, which helps in rally when the other hand is busy with a big steering input.
Clutch paddles are calibrated in SimPro Manager, along with the bite point. On the 320 mm GT and Sport rims, 3 or 5 mm spacers adjust the gap between the paddles and the rim. GT and Sport grips are replaceable; the Formula keeps its firmer three-layer silicone grips, which one reviewer found more comfortable with gloves.
SimPro Manager V3 and SimHub
SimPro Manager V3 is Simagic's software. It detects devices, updates firmware and sets force feedback, pedal curves, lighting, per-gear shift lights, button mapping and per-car profiles. Simagic recommends version 3.0.0 or later for the 2026 lineup. SimHub, a third-party tool, can run alongside it: it supports the Zeus buttons, LEDs and encoders, and its full dashboard library on the MagicDash 4.
Settings to do at first start-up, according to the manual:
- Update the firmware of the base, wheel and display in SimPro Manager before your first session. One reviewer found that AirLink and MagLink Pro only worked properly after this update.
- Calibrate the clutch: push the seven-way switch up for 5 seconds, then pull each clutch paddle fully once.
- Choose the encoder mode: hold the seven-way switch for 1.5 seconds, then turn the encoder clockwise (absolute mode) or counter-clockwise (incremental mode).
- Map buttons per car: flexible numbering lets you, for example, swap ABS and traction control from one car to another.
The SimHub point to know
Over a wired link (MagLink Pro), SimHub controls every wheel LED. Wirelessly through AirLink, SimHub drives the display, but the wheel LEDs are set in SimPro Manager. Simagic has said it is working on this: check the current status if it matters to you.
Simagic publishes the list of games with telemetry support, including iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Le Mans Ultimate, rFactor 2, Automobilista 2, F1, EA Sports WRC and Forza Motorsport. Like Simagic's other products, Zeus wheels work on Windows PC only; our PS5, Xbox and PC compatibility guide explains why.
What about the GT Neo and Neo X?
The GT Neo (300 mm) and the Neo X (modular hub) were designed before the Zeus range. They also use a 50 mm quick release and talk to Simagic bases wirelessly. They do not take the MagicDash 4 in their centre, but the MagLink Pro and the Xtend unlock their USB mode, useful for SimHub. At CA$320 to CA$330, they remain a good entry point if you need neither a display nor the Formula's control density.
Around the wheel, Simagic also makes load cell (P700, P1000) and hydraulic (P2000) pedals, HPR haptic modules that vibrate the pedal on wheel lock or wheelspin, shifters (Q1S, DS-8X) and handbrakes (TB-1, TB-RS), all tuned in SimPro Manager. They do not depend on the Zeus range: our guides to pedals and shifters and handbrakes compare them with other brands.

Above 12 Nm, plan for a rigid rig, otherwise the structure soaks up part of what the base produces: our cockpit guide explains how to choose.
Mistakes to avoid
- Buying an Xtend for an Alpha EVO base: it is not compatible, and not needed.
- Ordering the Zeus Formula without display and expecting shift lights: they are part of the MagicDash 4.
- Plugging the MagLink Pro hub into a USB port on the base instead of the PC.
- Connecting the quick release's original contacts at the same time as the MagLink Pro.
- Mounting AirLink behind an aluminium plate or right against your body.
- Skipping the firmware update before your first session.
- Buying a Zeus for a console: it works on PC only.

Zeus Formula Zeus GT Zeus Sport Simagic accessories All Simagic productsFrequently asked questions
Is the MagicDash 4 required with a Zeus wheel?
No. The Zeus GT and Zeus Sport keep their 15 shift lights without a display. On the Zeus Formula, the shift lights are part of the MagicDash 4: without it, the wheel has no rev indicator.
Do I need an accessory to use a Zeus on an Alpha EVO base?
Not for the wheel: it connects natively through the quick release. For the MagicDash 4, you need AirLink (wireless), included when the wheel is ordered with the display, or a MagLink Pro (wired).
Does a Zeus wheel work on an Alpha Mini or an older Alpha?
Yes, with a MagLink Pro (one per wheel) or a MagLink Pro Xtend (mounted on the base, it serves all your Zeus wheels). The Xtend starts to make sense from two wheels.
Can I mount a Zeus on a Moza, Conspit or other brand's base?
Yes, with a MagLink Pro for data and power, provided your base's quick release is compatible. Contact us with your base model before ordering.
MagLink Pro or MagLink Pro Xtend?
The MagLink Pro works on every base, one per wheel. The Xtend only works on first-generation Alpha bases and the M10, and serves all your Zeus wheels. It is not compatible with the Alpha EVO.
Can one MagicDash 4 serve several wheels?
Yes. It comes off in one move and goes from one Zeus to another, or onto the front of an Alpha EVO base.
Can SimHub control the LEDs on a Zeus wheel?
Yes over a wired link (MagLink Pro). Wirelessly through AirLink, SimHub drives the display and the wheel LEDs are set in SimPro Manager.
Do Zeus wheels work on PS5 or Xbox?
No. Like Simagic's other products, they work on Windows PC only.
