A load cell measures force on an element that barely moves. Hydraulic reproduces the pressure build of a real brake circuit, with resistance that stiffens progressively. Hydraulic goes further in realism; a load cell is already a huge step up from a potentiometer.

Yes, and we recommend it before a significant investment. A session in store lets you compare setups and work out where your budget will have the most effect. No spec sheet replaces sitting down and driving.

That is the most sensible approach. An aluminium chassis and a good pedal set stay relevant for years; the base and the wheel are what you replace first. Building in that order avoids buying the same thing twice.
