Yes. It connects directly to the PC and is recognised as an independent device, so it does not depend on your base. Configuration runs through the Conspit software and the inputs are then mapped in each simulation.

Modulation. A spring and potentiometer model gives a linear travel and an effectively on-off response. Hydraulic builds resistance as you pull, which lets you stop at 40 percent of braking and stay there — exactly what holding an angle in drift requires.

That is the intended and most solid mounting, because a handbrake takes significant lateral load. On a desk mount or a wooden structure you need an anchor point able to take that force, otherwise the whole thing shifts on every pull and modulation becomes impossible.

Behaviour is set through circuit pressure and lever positioning, which lets you tune the effort needed to reach the stop according to your strength and your discipline. A drift driver usually wants a firmer lever than a rally driver.

Yes, nothing requires the right side. Extrusion mounting leaves the position open, and some drivers prefer the left depending on their rig layout or where their shifter sits. It comes down to available space.

No, it is intended for PC. That is true of nearly every hydraulic handbrake on the market: consoles do not expose additional peripherals this way.

A closed hydraulic circuit asks for very little: periodically check there is no play at the lever and that the mounting points are clean. There is no routine bleeding to do in normal use.

The handbrake is the control you only notice when it is missing. In rally, in drift and on standing starts, a progressive handbrake changes how you place the car. Why hydraulic rather than a position sensor

A potentiometer handbrake measures how far the lever travels: you pull, it reports a percentage. Hydraulic measures the pressure you actually apply. You feel the difference the moment you need to modulate rather than yank, typically when initiating a slide without locking the rear completely. Effort builds progressively, the way a real hydraulic circuit does.

Which disciplines it suits

Drift first, where the handbrake is part of the basic technique. Rally next, for hairpins where you pivot the car instead of braking it. And more broadly any simulation involving manoeuvring: truck, farming, or simply standing starts in racing. For pure tarmac circuit work, the benefit is more marginal.

Fitting it to your rig

The H3 mounts on aluminium extrusion, to the right of the wheel where a real lever sits. Plan for the space: that is the main constraint on a compact chassis or a desk setup. It connects straight to the PC and is configured as a separate device, without going through your wheelbase.
